Using Geo Radar Technology
For The Project
With Statsbygg

Field work at one of Statsbygg’s assets in Rogaland.

Preserving Infrastructure
Through Innovation

We recently had the pleasure of collaborating with Statsbygg, the Norwegian government’s building commissioner, property manager and developer, on an exciting project at one of their assets in Rogaland. Together, we explored Birdsview’s technology, which aims to revolutionize the way we approach maintenance and rehab of existing buildings.

Tackling Infrastructure Challenges with Geo Radar Scanning

The focus of the project was an aging concrete deck and a structural column, both of which lacked sufficient design documentation and had been subjected to load limitations after a prior condition assessment.

Using our advanced geo radar technology and AI algorithms, we conducted a non-invasive scan of the elements. The analysis enabled us to locate the reinforcement bars and determine their diameters — all without damaging the structures.

"Statsbygg will be a driving force in the transition to a circular economy, and we aim to reduce the need for new construction by utilizing the potential in existing buildings."

Sustainability Advisor at Statsbygg
“This was exciting to be a part of! It will be interesting to see the value this technology can create.”

Operation Engineer at Statsbygg

Building Smarter, Together

This project demonstrates how innovation can preserve historic buildings while promoting sustainable solutions and enhancing operations. We’re grateful to Statsbygg for their partnership, forward-thinking mindset, and commitment to embracing technologies that align with a circular economy. We look forward to continuing our mission to make infrastructure safer, more efficient, and future-ready.
